This month, students in 19 elementary schools will have an opportunity to sample locally grown sweet potatoes as part of the Coulee Region Farm2School program. Each month, one local food is selected as the Harvest of the Month. This food is then featured on promotional signage throughout the school, sampled in taste tests, featured at cooking classes with area chefs and farmers, and of course, served at mealtime.
Sweet potatoes will also be featured this month at the People’s Food Co-op! Stop by on January 14th from 11 am – 1 pm for a sampling of sweet potato chips. If your interested in learning how to cook sweet potato fries checkout their January 21st cooking class.
