Wheel to School Week Challenge 2016
True enjoyment comes from activity of the mind and exercise of the body; the two are united. – Alexander Von Humboldt
La Crosse County Safe Routes to School is sponsoring the 6th annual Wheel to School Week Challenge, May 2nd-6th 2016. To promote physical activity for all ages, students AND school staff are encouraged to join the Challenge by walking or wheeling, to and from school. Those who are unable to walk/wheel to and from school can participate by walking at school or by walking/wheeling after school.
For more information on the Wheel to School Week Challenge or to download a Challenge log visit the Get Active Website at https://www.getactivelacrosse.org/events/safe-routes-to-school-events/. Participants are encouraged to track all of the ways they participate in the Challenge throughout the week. Logs will be used to determine the school with the highest participation percentage. The winning school will receive the traveling Silver Spoke Award. All logs submitted will be entered into drawings for a chance to win a new scooter and other Challenge prizes.
If you have any questions about the challenge or would like us to mail you a log please contact Rebecca Lakowske at 608-785-5665 or send an email to rlakowske@lacrossecounty.org.
